Dear friends of The Good Garden,
Next month, “The Good Garden” will celebrate its 2-year anniversary. Together we’ve visited nearly 100 beautiful gardens from around the world, explored key design styles from ancient times to today, and talked about the people behind these incredible landscapes.
Thank you all for joining me on this adventure. Without your encouragement, there would be no blog. Your comments and perspectives have inspired me.
I am delighted to share that The Good Garden has been recognized with two 2016 Media Awards. A Gold Medal of Achievement for “best blog overall” and a Silver Medal of Achievement for “best photography for a newspaper over 30k circulation.” Presented by GWA: The Association for Garden Communicators, this national award recognizes individuals and companies who achieve the highest levels of talent and professionalism in garden communications. This year’s competition had more than 250 entries.
I started this project with the crazy idea of sharing my love of gardens and the stories and people behind them, grateful for nature’s amazing ability to restore and energize. Part photo site, part travelogue, part history, my goal was to be that friend who drags you to gardens and shares obscure stories about them. I am the one who says “look at this” and though you might appear skeptical, inside you are thinking that this is cool stuff too.
Thanks for being part of this! Looking forward to more garden stories together on a bi-weekly basis.
David
